ROMAN CIVILIZATION
What comes in your mind when you hear the word Civilization? For me, civilization is an advance level of development in society that marked by complex social and political organization and artistic progress.
As time passes by, there are changes happening in this world. There are lots of advancement in the civilization that helps humanity. One of this civilization is the Roman Civilization.
The Romans are known as fierce colonizers, expanding their empire farther from their origin and is highly attributed for the many contributions they made in each colonized state. One of the most appreciated contribution of roman is their aqueducts. It is one of their contributions that's still used after 2,080 years of invention. Our modern waterways still flow through aqueducts that maintain the order and safety of water passage.
Romans are the greatest aqueduct builders of all time. Aqueducts are channels for carrying water from its source to a place of distribution. Sometimes, it includes a bridge-like structure with water flow through a canal or pipe along its top, bringing water across a valley or even through hills.
Another roman contribution is the idea about cars. Nowadays, we use much of these mechanical toys in moving around places. Bridges which are also part of roman contribution helps a lot of people to cross boundaries. People from far places which are commonly across the hill or the sea are now connected through the connecting bridges.
The Roman Empire experienced great height, power and wealth. Even in the biblical scriptures, Roman are described as powerful oppressors of the Jews. Extended Empires are a great deal for them. During those times, countries fight for the ownership of different "unowned" places.
During its height, the Roman population rose up-thus rising its need for water consumption at a very intensive weight.
